Cavapatti Macaroni & Cheese
- 1 pound Cavapatti pasta
- 1/2 stick Butter
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 3 cups Shredded sharp chedder cheese
- 1 cup Shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
- 24 ounces Whole Milk (best at room temperature)
- To taste Salt & Pepper
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 8 ounces Panko bread crumbs
- Cook pasta
- In a large saucepan melt butter, stir in flour. Cook for about 3 minutes. Add milk until white sauce thickens. If cheese is too thick, add pasta water or milk. Add cheese and salt & pepper to taste.
- Mix pasta and sauce into a casserole dish. Add panko bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, and additional cheddar/jack cheese to the top.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 45-60 minutes, until top is toasted.
