Sweet Potato Bread

  1. Cream the shortening.
  2. Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  3. Add eggs; mix well.
  4. Stir in sweet potatoes and water.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Fold in pecans and raisins.
  6. Spoon into 2 well-greased and floured
  7. 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until bread tests done.
  8. Makes 2 loaves.
