Molasses Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Cream shortening and molasses in bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg.
  2. Combine flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, baking powder and nutmeg in large bowl; mix well.
  3. Add to creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in oats, walnuts and raisins; mix well.
  5. Chill, covered, for several hours.
  6. Shape into balls.
  7. Roll in sugar.
  8. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 375u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  10. Yield:
  11. 54 servings.
