Philly Cheesesteak Melt
- Frozen wafer-thin beef steaks, such as Steak-Umm or Philly Gourmet
- Red and green bell peppers, chopped
- Onion, chopped
- Mushrooms, sliced
- Butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sliced or shredded cheese (Swiss, provolone, cheddar, etc.)
- In a large skillet, saute the peppers, onions, and mushrooms in butter until tender. Season to taste. Transfer to a serving bowl or casserole and keep warm. Heat the skillet on medium-high and add the frozen steaks. You may want to break them into smaller pieces for easier cooking. Cook as directed on the package; season with salt and pepper. Add the vegetable mixture and toss together with two forks to slightly break up the meat. Arrange each serving on a plate, top with cheese and microwave until the cheese is melted.
- This is one of those recipes that's hard to come up with a carb count. It will depend on how large your servings are. Below is an estimate. If you need a quick, tasty supper, this will do the trick.
