Beef Thai Salad
- 1pound beef strip loin or tenderloin
- 5 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 2 tbsp oyster or cock sauce
- Sesame seed oil
- Ginger - peeled and grated
- 1/2 tsp sugar or 1/2 pineapple
- 2-3 Thai birds eye chilies
- 1/2 cup shallots, thinly sliced
- 4 pieces scallions, thinly sliced
- Sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup tightly packed coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp fresh mint leaves, chiffonade
- Salt
- Pepper
- Rub beef with black pepper, pressing it into meat. Grill or broil beef until medium-rare, or pan sear in hot skillet. Cool for 30 minutes. Thinly slice beef across grain.
- In large bowl, stir together lime juice, oyster sauce, ginger, sesame oil, sugar and chilies until well combined. Add beef, shallots, scallions, coriander, sesame seeds and mint. Toss well. Add pineapple if using. Refrigerate until cool.
