Good As Gold Margaritas

  1. Mix the sugar, Triple Sec, lime juice and water until the sugar is fully dissolved. Add the tequila and 1/2 the ice and stir.
  2. Dip the margarita glass into the mix, then into the salt. Hold the glass upside down over the sink and run your finger around the inside rim to keep the salt from falling into the drink. Put some ice in the glass and pour the margarita.
  3. This mix can be used to make frozen margaritas also. In a blender, mix the recipe replacomg the water with the same amount of ice. When fully mixed, put the blender on high and keep adding ice until the mix is too thick to blend any more ice.
  4. As an alternative, put the mix without ice into a freezer container and freeze for a day or more. The resulting slush can be served with an ice cream scoop or solid ladle and keeps for weeks.
