Prosciutto And Fig Pizza
- 1 Store bought pizza dough from bakery section or Italian market
- 1 box Fresh Mission Figs (if in season) or fig preserves
- 6 pieces Prosciutto (sliced)
- 1 wedges Gorgonzola Cheese (crumbled)
- 1/2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1/2 cup Black Walnuts or Pecans (toasted)
- 1 tablespoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tablespoon Fresh basil (snipped into thin ribbons)
- Preheat oven and foil lined cooking sheet referring to dough directions for temperature. Roll out pizza dough to a 1/4" -1/2" in base. Lightly coat with olive oil. Spread fig preserves (if using) or slice Mission figs thinly and reserve on side.
- Layer prosciutto to cover entire dough base. Spread sliced figs and sprinkle with Gorgonzola and crushed red pepper flakes. Bake according to dough instructions.
- 5 minutes before pizza is removed from oven, sprinkle with basil and nuts. Cut into squares and serve warm of room temperature.
