Sweet And Sour Pork
- 1.5 lbs pork, 2 x1/2" strips
- 2 tblsp hot oil, olive or shortening
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 - can pineable chunks
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 tblsp cornstarch
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1 tbsp soya sauce
- 1 medium green pepper, cut in strips
- 1/4 c thinly sliced onion
- hot cooked rice
- Brown pork slowly in oil. Add 1 c. water, bouillon, 1/4 tsp salt; mix well. Cover and simmer till tender, about 1 hour. Meanwhile drain pineapple reserving syrup. Combine brown sugar and corsnstarch; add reserved syrup,, vinegar, soya sauce and 1/2 tsp salt. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened and bubbly. Add sauce to pork, add green pepper, and onion. Cook over low heat till veges are tender crisp. Serve over rice.
