Green Beans In Tomato Sauce
- 1 lb. fresh green beans
- 1 small onion
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic
- 1 Tbsp. oil (used to saute onion/garlic; may use a little water instead if you want to cut out the fat)
- 1 large can tomatoes, cut up in small pieces
- salt and pepper to taste
- Put onion and garlic in food processor and chop until fine. Saute onion and garlic in oil in large pan until translucent (don't burn).
- Add fresh beans and stir.
- Cover and cook on low heat for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Add tomatoes (with juice), salt and pepper to taste.
- (If you want, you may add a little tomato sauce to make it thicker.)
- Cover and cook on low heat for at least an hour, depending on how hard or soft you want the green beans to be.
- Or you can bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours.
- Stir occasionally. Add water, if needed.
