Chocolate Drop Cookies

  1. 1. Melt 2 oz chocolate and let cool.
  2. 2. Beat sugar, 1/2 cup butter, buttermilk, vanilla, egg and chocolate using electric mixer on medium speed
  3. 3. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt
  4. 4. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons about 2 inches apart
  5. 5. Bake 8-10 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched in the center. Cool completely, about 30 minutes
  6. 6. In 2 quart pan, melt 2 ounces of chocolate and 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat, sitting occasionally.
  7. 7. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar and hot water until smooth. If frosting is too thick, add 1 teaspoon water at a time. If frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar 1 tablespoon at a time.
