Choc-Oat-Chip Cookies
- 1 cupt (2 sticks) margerine or butter softened
- 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 Tb. mild
- 1 3/4 cups flour (use a bit more so the cookies don't come out flat
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 cups Quaker oats uncooked
- 1 12 oz package chocolate chips semi sweet
- 1. Heat oven to 350
- 2. Beat margarine and sugars until creamy
- 3. Add eggs, milk and vanilla and combine
- 4. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt, mix well
- 4a. Stir in oats, choc chips (by hand)
- 5. Drop by rounded Tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheet (I use parchment paper - easier clean up)
- 6. Bake 9-10 mins (check after 8 mins)
- 7.Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, transfer to wire rack
- 8. Cool completely.
- 9. Store in sealed container, add a 1/2 piece of bread to keep them soft.
- For cookie bars, heat oven to 375. Press dough evenly onto bottom of ungreased 13.9 baking pan. Bake 35-40 mins or till light brown. Cool Completely. Cut into bars. Store in sealed container.
