Mary Ann'S Brownies
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 box confectioners sugar
- 7 Tbsp. cream or evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
- 1 (18 1/4 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 1 (18 1/4 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. milk chocolate chips, divided
- 3/4 c. milk chocolate chips, divided
- Prepare cake batter according to package directions. Pour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar. Stir in 1/4 cup chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls over batter. Cut through batter with a knife to swirl the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips. Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Yield: 3 dozen.
