Christy'S Favorite Chili
- 1-2 pounds Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1-2 yellow sweet onions, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2-4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-2 jars of salsa
- 2-3 cans of stewed tomatoes
- Jalapenos (to your taste/preference, I get sliced jarred kind)
- 4-6 cans of beans (I've enjoyed Northern, Kidney, Black, Pinto, whatever your feelingn like to get all different kindsnould also use a pasta for those that are anti-bean)
- Chili Powder (to your taste/preference)
- Cayenne Pepper (to your taste/preference)
- Sautee ground meat with onion, garlic, green pepper, chili powder, and cayenne pepper, until meat is browned in stock pot. If using ground beef, drain fat. Chop up stewed tomatoes in food processor, so tomatoes chunks are quarter to dime sized. Add processed tomatoes to meat, with drained stewed tomato juice. Mince jalapenos in food processor, add to pot. Drain and add all beans. Add salsa. Bring to boil, then let simmer for about an hour. As always, tastes better the next day.
- Serve topped with shredded cheddar or Mexican mix cheese, and a dollop of sour cream for those that don't like as much heat.
- Serve with corn casserole.
