Savory Crescent Squares
- 1 softened 3 oz. cream cheese
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 2 c. cooked and cubed chicken or turkey
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 Tbsp. chopped onions and chives
- 1 Tbsp. chopped pimento
- 1 (8 oz.) can Pillsbury crescent rolls
- 3/4 c. seasoned croutons
- Blend cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add next 6 ingredients. Mix well. Separate crescent rolls into 4 rectangles. Press perforations together. Spoon 1/2 cup mixture into center. Seal edges (and slope a bit). Brush tops with butter and spread seasoned crouton crumbs on top. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until golden. Squares can be partially baked and frozen for later use. Just thaw and finish cooking before serving.
