Queen'S Chocolate Cake

  1. Place chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, until chocolate melts.
  3. Remove from hot water; let cool completely. Stir in rum.
  4. Combine egg whites, cream of tartar and salt in a small mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until foamy.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating at high speed until stiff peaks form.
  6. Cover; set aside.
