Bise Bele Bath

  1. Put 1/2 coffee mug of dal in about 6 cups water heat on medium heat. Optional: add 1/2 stick butter.
  2. When dal is half cooked, add one coffee mug of rice and 2 medium potatoes, cut into small cubes (1 inch) and reduce temperature to low.
  3. add salt, though one may need as much as 2/3 to one full tablespoon depending on taste.
  4. (may consider adding other vegetables such as green beans although be aware of cooking time to avoid overcooking of delicate vegetables)
  5. Add spices paste:
  6. dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper, and 3 red chili pepper, grind with a spoon of tamarind and 1.5 spoons of bisibelebath mix - from MTR).
  7. Continue to cook on low until rice is cooked. (approx 30-60 min depending on volume)
  8. Prepare wogarne:
  9. heat oil or gee, then add mustard seeds, then cumin seeds once mustard seeds pop. next add curry leaves (approx 10 or more if you have them!)
  10. Add wogarne to bath.
  11. Salt to taste.
  12. Serve with yogurt/coriander leaf/onion/tomato/salt/curry leaf mix.
