Pumpkin Pie Cake

  1. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 glass dish. Blend the butter and egg into the cake mix and press into the dish. Use a cup or glass to press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the dish and half way up the side.
  2. Hand mix the pumpkin, eggs, sugars, milk and seasonings. Pour over the cake mix "pie shell".
  3. Blend the reserved cake mix with sugar and butter. Roll into walnut-sized balls and spread over the pumpkin mixture. Sprinkle with nuts.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  5. Serve with whipped topping.
