Broccoli Casserole
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. chopped broccoli
- 2 c. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. plain flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 c. milk
- 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese
- 2 tsp. butter
- bread crumbs
- Cook broccoli.
- Cook onions in boiling salted water until tender.
- Drain water.
- In saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter; blend in flour, salt and pepper.
- Add milk.
- Cook and stir until very bubbly, then reduce heat and blend in cream cheese.
- Place broccoli in casserole dish and pour sauce over it and stir well. Top casserole with sharp cheese.
- Melt 2 teaspoons butter and pour over casserole, then sprinkle bread crumbs over top.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
