Bread Pudding - Whiskey Sauce
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups dry bread cubes (4 slices)
- 1/3 cup raisins or other snipped dried fruit
- Whiskey Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk beaten
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- Bread Pudding
- 2.tn mixing bowl, beat together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Place dry bread cubes in an 8x1 inch round baking dish. Sprinkle fruit over bread. Pour egg mixture over all.
- 3.take in a 325 degree F. oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool slightly. Serve warm with Whiskey Sauce.
- Whiskey Sauce
- 5.tn a small sauce pan, melt butter. Stir in sugar, egg yolk, and water. Cook and stir constantly over medium-low heat for 5-6 minutes or until sugar is disolved and mixture boils.
- 6.temove from heat and stir in bourbon. Serve warm.
