Taco Salad
- 1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
- 1 (16 oz.) carton sour cream
- 3 to 4 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- head of lettuce, shredded
- 8 oz. Cheddar cheese
- black olives, onions or jalapenos (for garnish)
- 44 oz. peeled tomatoes
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. oil
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 Tbsp. pepper
- 4 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/4 Tbsp. cumin
- 1 Tbsp. dried onions
- 1/4 tsp. oregano powder
- 1/8 tsp. sage, powdered
- 1/4 c. water
- Mix 3/4 of the tomatoes well at high speed in the mixer. Rejuvenate the dried onions in 1/4 cup water (hot).
- Place the remaining 1/4 of the tomatoes in the mixer, together with all ingredients, except the flour and oil.
- Beat this mixture well; put it in a pan with the rest of the tomatoes.
- Cook this mixture for 5 minutes, checking to see if there is enough salt and pepper from time to time.
- Add as necessary.
