Mexicali Meat Pie
- 8 or 9-inch unbaked pastry shell
- 1 egg
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (7 oz.) can corn with sweet peppers, drained
- 1/2 c. soda cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. chili sauce
- 2 Tbsp. sweet pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 4 green olives, sliced
- 6 slices crisp crumbled bacon
- Beat egg slightly in mixing bowl.
- Add ground beef, corn, cracker crumbs, chili sauce, sweet peppers, onion and oregano. Mix well.
- Press meat mixture firmly into pastry shell.
- Bake at 425u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Spread topping (recipe follows) on filling.
- Top with olives and bacon.
- Bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
