Tailgait-Gooie Good Carmel Apple Popcon Bars
- 1 bag (3.5 oz) microwave popcorn, popped
- 1/2 cup coarsely crushed candy coated chocolate pieces (team colors encouraged)
- 3/4 c. dried apples, chopped
- 1 bag (14 oz) caramels
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 c white chocolate chips
- Food coloring gel or drops coorsponding to team color-if desired
- 1. Butter bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. Remove and discard unpopped kernels from popped popcorn.
- 2. In large bowl, mix popcorn and candy with apples.
- 3. In 4-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave caramels and water uncovered on High 2 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute, until smooth. Stir in vanilla and cinnamon.
- 4. Pour over popcorn mixture; toss until evenly coated. Press in pan with buttered hands. Let stand about 30 minutes or until set.
- 5. Meanwhile, place chopped chocolate chips and coloring in an open resalable bag, stand in a measuring bowl with chips in the bottom corner of the bag and then placed in the microwave.
- 6. Microwave for 30 seconds, and then at 15 second intervals until chocolate begging to loose its form. When melted, add colri if desired, seal the bag, making sure you get all of the air out, moving the chocolate to one of the bottom corners. Then, snip one of the lower corners and drizzle over bars.
