Morning Cookies
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
- 3/4 c. applesauce
- 1/2 c. oats
- 1/3 c. wheat bran
- 1/4 c. nonfat dry milk powder
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. chopped walnuts
- In bowl, beat margarine (or butter) and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add remaining ingredients (except raisins and nuts) and beat on low speed until combined.
- Stir in raisins and nuts. Spray baking sheet with nonstick spray.
- Drop tablespoons of dough onto baking sheet and spread dough so each cookie is about 2-inches across.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 10 minutes or until set.
- Cool. Spread bottom of half of the cookies with cream cheese or peanut butter and top with other halves.
- Store in refrigerator.
