Firecracker Meatballs
- For the meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2/3 cup bread crumbs (Italian or plain)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon Shriacha Hot Chili Sauce
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- For the sauce:
- 12 oz bottle chili sauce
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Sriacha Hot Chili Sauce
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Make the meatballs:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients for meatballs in large bowl. Form meatballs and place on baking sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for approximately 20 minutes or until no longer pink.
- Make the sauce:
- While meatballs are cooking, combine all ingredients for sauce in large skillet and whisk to combine.
- Add meatballs to sauce, cover and simmer over low heat for approximately 30 minutes. Serve alone as an appetizer or over rice for a meal.
