Creole Red Velvet Cake
- 1 1/2 cups Wesson Oil
- 2 cups Granulated Sugar
- 1 tblsp. Light Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 2 tblsp. Red Food Coloring
- 1 tsp. White Vinegar
- 2 tsp. Dark Cocoa Powder
- Preheat oven 350 Degrees F
- Cream sugars with oil. Add eggs and beat well. Add buttermilk and vanilla to sugar mixture, beat thoroughly. In seperate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt twice. In a measuring cup, add coloring, vinegar, and cocoa, mix well. Add color mixture to sugar mixture, add flour mixture to colored sugar mixture and fold well, not too long. Bake in three 9" greased-lightly floured cake pans for 35 minutes. Use any Cream Cheese Frosting
