Turkey-Bean Chili
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can Mexican style chili beans (undrained)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
- commercial sour cream (optional)
- chopped green onions (optional)
- Combine the first 3 ingredients in a 3-quart casserole.
- Cover and microwave at High 5 to 6 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink, stirring once.
- Drain well.
- Add tomato sauce, beans, salt, pepper, chili powder and cumin.
- Cover; microwave at High 10 to 12 minutes, stirring after 6 minutes.
- If desired, garnish with sour cream and green onions.
- Yields 5 cups.
