Better Than Sex Cake
- For the cake:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 small box instant vanilla pudding
- 8 oz sour cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 6 oz milk chocolate chips
- 4 oz German chocolate squares
- For the Icing:
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 16 oz powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 cake pan.
- Using a fine grater or micro-plane, shave the chocolate squares. Reserve 1/4 cup for the topping.
- To make the cake, place the first 7 ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix on medium-high until smooth. Add the pecans and chocolate chips and mix on low speed until well combined. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the chocolate shavings. Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 45 minutes. Remove to a cooling rack and cool completely before icing.
- To make the icing, beat the butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla on low speed until the sugar begins to combine with the other ingredients. Increase the speed to medium-high and mix until smooth. Add the pecans and beat until incorporated.
- Spread the icing on the cooled cake and sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate shavings.
