Italian Meat Casserole

  1. Cook macaroni until tender.
  2. Melt 1/4 cup of butter in skillet; saute onions and beef with seasonings until meat is brown, stirring often with fork.
  3. Add 1 1/3 cups of cheese to meat mixture; stir until melted.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Mix 2 tablespoons of butter with macaroni.
  6. Add meat mixture, 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce and mushrooms and mix well.
  7. Pour into a 2-quart casserole.
  8. Top with remaining tomato sauce and cheese.
  9. Bake at 325u0b0 for 30 minutes.
