Izzy'S Biscuits
- 1 cup brown rice baby cereal
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 cups sharp cheddar (or less)
- 1 1/4 cup green apple and golden raisin puree (chop apples, mix in raisins, bake at 450 for 25 minutes in 1 cup water. cool, and puree in blender)
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- pinch of kosher salt
- pinch of ground ginger
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Dough should be VERY thick, and not sticky. If dough comes out sticky, add flour.
- Form dough into a ball. Place on a floured surface and roll out. Use a small round cutter to cut biscuits.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or until springy, but not mushy to the touch.
