Apple Crisp
- 2 pounds apples, peeled cored and quartered
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 pound cold butter, diced (2 sticks)
- 3/4 cup brown
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 pan. Mix first 6 ingredients, spread in pan.
- Combine remaining ingredients. Sprinkle on top of apple mixture. Bake 50 - 55 minutes.
- Serve warm over vanilla ice cream.
- 3/4 cup brown sugar and 3/4 cup sugar go in the topping along with the salt. Apples have 1/4 cup brown and 1/4 cup white sugar.
