Golden Gate Tamale Pie

  1. Cook onion and garlic in oil slowly until tender.
  2. Add meat and brown quickly.
  3. Add remaining vegetables, olives and seasonings and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Stir corn meal and salt into boiling water and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  5. Stir in butter and cook over hot water 20 minutes.
  6. Line bottom and sides of two-quart casserole with corn meal mixture.
  7. Pour in filling.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle top with cheese and bake 15 minutes longer.
