Granny'S Foster'S Banana Walnut Bread

  1. preheat oven to 350
  2. grease and lightly flour 2 9x5x3 loaf pans
  3. combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and carmamom in a large bowl and stir
  4. cream together butter and sugar in sparate bowl with an electric mixer until well blended. Slowly add beaten eggs while continuing to beat. Add bananas & vanilla & stir.
  5. Slowly add flour mixture to butter mixture & stir just until dry ingredients are moist and blended. Do not overmix. Fold in the walnutes & stir just to blend.
  6. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans & let it settle to the sides; tap pans on the counter a few times to even out batter.
  7. Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hrs or until the bread rises and a toothpick inserted in center of each loaf comes out clean. The bread will be slightly brown & cracked on the top.
  8. Let rest for 10-15 minutes before removing from the pans. Serve warm or place on a baking rack to cool.
