Pauline'S Seven Layer Salad
- 1 large head lettuce, shredded
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 small box frozen English peas
- 4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
- 12 ounces fried bacon, drained and crumbled
- 1 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 1 package Hidden Valley dry ranch dressing mix
- Layer salad in order of ingredients. Use large, tall glass or plastic bowl. Reserve 1/2 of bacon for mixing later.
- Mix dressing ingredients. Pour dressing over top of salad, sealing to edges of the bowl. Refrigerate at least 24 hours. Before serving, add reserved bacon and toss. (May require more dressing.) Of course this recipe is not exact, and you may use more or less of above ingredients if desired.
