Turkey Chili
- 2 pounds ground white meat turkey
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. red Chili pepper flakes
- 1 onion, diced
- 28oz can crushed tomato
- 15oz can diced tomato
- 1 15oz can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup water
- sour cream (optional)
- shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional)
- oyster crackers (optional)
- In a large dutch oven pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and the diced onion. Saute until softened. Add the ground turkey meat and brown, breaking up the meat. Add the cans of crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, water and all the spices. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stirring a few times. Add the kidney beans and simmer another 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
- Calories per serving: 330 (if you want to lighten this recipe even more, use 1/2 pound less turkey meat)
