Ginger Cookies

  1. Combine flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a separte, large bowl, beat margarine or butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, beat well. Stir in dry ingredients.
  3. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls, roll in the 2 T sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 1/2 inches apart.
  4. Bake in a 350 oven for about 10 minutes until light brown and still puffed.. Let stand for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
