June'S Pound Cake
- 1 cup butter,softened
- 2 cups sugar,white
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2-3/4 cups flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp, salt
- Cream the butter and sugar very well.Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.Combine the flour,baking powder and salt.Combine the milk and extracts.Add the dry and wet ingredients alternately to the creamed mixture;beating well after each addition.
- Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. tube pan and bake at 350 F. for 50-55 minutes or until cake is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes in the pan before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
- I use a vanilla butter cream icing to frost this cake and I use both the vanilla and almond extracts in the icing adds great flavor.
