Sweet And Sour Pork

  1. Have pork shoulder sliced 1/4-inch thick.
  2. Cut into 2-inch strips, removing bone.
  3. Melt shortening in large frying pan.
  4. Add meat; brown lightly.
  5. Add Dr. Pepper, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar and ginger.
  6. Cover and cook over low heat until meat is tender, about 1 hour.
  7. Add celery and green peppers; cook 5 minutes.
  8. Mix cornstarch with some of the juice from the pineapple.
  9. Stir into meat mixture.
  10. Add pineapple with rest of juice.
  11. Cook until green peppers are barely tender.
  12. Serves 6 to 8 over rice.
