Quick Apple Danish

  1. Mix the first 6 ingredients as for pie crust.
  2. Sift flour, sugar and salt together into bowl.
  3. Cut in shortening, using pastry blender or 2 knives.
  4. Using fork, beat egg yolk in cup; add enough milk to make 2/3 cup in all.
  5. Mix lightly with dry ingredients.
  6. Divide in half.
  7. Roll out to fit onto a cookie sheet.
  8. Cover this pastry with 1 cup crushed corn flakes, then a thick layer of thinly sliced apples.
