- 1 c. brown sugar (packed)
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1/4 c white Karo syrup
- 1/2 teas salt
- 1/2 teas baking soda
- 4 qts of popped corn or 1/2 c unpopped corn - popped
- 1st take brown paper bag turn down at top about 5 or 6 in. Then spray the bag with PAM. Then pop corn and put in bag. Take quart glass bowl and put into it - brown sugar, salt, syrup and the butter(cut up). Cover top of bowl with Saran wrap and Microwave on high until comes to boil; then microwave 3 min on high. It will take 2 min for it to start to boil, so 5 min on high is enough. Remove from microwave; add 1/2 teas baking soda and stir very good. Pour slowly over the popped corn. Stir and shake the bag to be sure corn is all coated. Put bag on its side ( with top open) in Microwave on high for 1 1/2 min. Take bag out and shake good. Put back in on high for 1/2 min. Pour out on two sheets of wax paper. Sort and spread out and then let cool. Store in plastic bag. Be sure to seal bag tightly.
