Cream Cheese Turle Cake
- 1 c sliced almonds
- 1 c chopped pecans
- german choc cake mix, dry
- 1 1/4 c water
- 1/3 c oil
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c butter
- 3/1/2 c 10x sugar
- 8 oz cr cheese, soft
- icing
- 1 3/4 c 10x sugar
- 2 tblsp cocoa
- 5 tblsp whole milk
- 1/4 c unsalted butter
- 3/4 c semi sweet choc chips
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 c caramel topping or dulche de leche topping
- oven 350', butter/flour 13x9 pan. sprinkle 1/2 c almonds and 1/2 c pecans into pan. combine mix,water,oil,eggs in large bowl.beat low till moist; med 2 minutes. pour into pan.
- melt butter, gradually stir in 10x, will form clumps;stir in cr cheese-whisk till smooth.pour over cake batter in large ribbons, use knife to swirl-don't overmix. bake 50 minutes till tests done, bottom will be moist. sprinkle with remaining nuts. cool in pan.
- ICING:
- mix sugar and cocoa in med bowl. bring milk and butter to simmer in med pan. reduce to low heat,add sugar mix. whisk until melted. add chips, whisk till smooth. add vanilla.
- drizzle warm icing over cake-let cool 2 hours. drizzle caramel. store at room temp.
