Wassail Bowl

  1. Stud the 3 oranges with whole cloves, about 1/2 inch apart. Bake in a baking pan with a little water added, at 325u0b0 for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat cider and cinnamon sticks in large saucepan.
  3. Bring to boil and reduce heat.
  4. Simmer covered for 5 minutes.
  5. Add remaining ingredients (nutmeg, honey, lemon juice, orange rind, lemon rind, and pineapple juice) and simmer uncovered for 5 more minutes.
  6. Remove cinnamon sticks that are left.
  7. Pour into large punch bowl and float spiced oranges (above) on top.
  8. Yields:
  9. 40 punch cup servings.
