Simple Home-Made Hot Chocolate

  1. Prepare the whipped cream ahead of time: Whip 1 cup heavy whipping cream combined with confectioner's sugar and vanilla extract together until the cream has a nice texture. Set aside or refrigerate up to 24 hours ahead of time.
  2. Hot Chocolate:
  3. Combine heavy whipping cream, milk, and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Bring to a simmer until it reaches a nice warm temperature (or until the brown sugar melts, whichever happens last). Add the almond extract then remove from burner.
  4. Mix in the cocoa until dissolved.
  5. Serve with whipped cream on top.
