Shepards Pie
- 1.3 pounds of ground sirloin
- 1-10.5 oz can of French Onion soup
- 1 package of Raw small carrots -rinsed or package of frozen carrots(1 pound est.)
- 1-24 oz package(1.5 lbs) of precooked mashed potatoes (Simply Potatoes or Bob Evans) or make your own
- Dash of Garlic powder
- Brown the ground sirloin in frying pan, add garlic powder while cooking.The grease should cook off by the time it is browned. If needed you would> Drain any fat left in the pan. Add the can of French Onion soup to the meat and cover and simmer for five minutes. Pour the meat mixture into a glass casserole 13x9x2.
- At the same time, Cook carrots in boiling water till soft and then drain. Then mash and spread over the top of the meat.
- Microwave the mashed potatoes as package directs and then spread over the carrot mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Place the casserole into the oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the top of the potatoes are a little browned around the edges. Serve
