Lindsay'S Butter Cookies
- Cookie:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- teaspoon salt
- Frosting:
- 2 lbs confectioners sugar
- 2 sticks of butter
- 2 tablespoons of shortening (crisco)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla (clear)
- 3-4 tablespoons of milk
- Cookie:
- 1. Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until creamy.
- 2. Sift flour baking powder and salt and add them to the wet ingredients
- 3. Chill for at least 1 hour
- 4. Roll and cut with cookie cutters
- 5. Bake at 400 for 5 minutes or until edges are light golden
- Frosting:
- Soften butter and beat with ingredients until creamy.
