Melomakarona
- 2 cups Ground nuts
- 2 cups Olive oil
- 1 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Orange juice
- 2 Orange grind from 2 oranges
- 1/2 cup Brandy
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 2 tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon Ground cloves
- 4 cups Flour
- 1 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 3 tablespoons Honey
- 2 sticks Cinnamon stick
- Shape round or oval and put on non stick cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for about 30 min.
- Put in a big round pan water, sugar, honey, cinnamon stick and cloves. Softly boil for 5 min.
- Let cookies cool. Put about 8 at a time in the hot syrup. Let them soak for a second, take them out with slotted spoon. Repeat until all cookies are dunked.
- This should be step 1. Put in bowl oil, nuts, sugar, juice, rind, baking powder.
- Dissolve soda in brandy, add to above.
- Work well with wooden spoon or hands.
