Portuguese Pasta Fazool

  1. 1. Cook pasta al dente according to box directions then drain well & set aside
  2. 2. Fry bacon until crisp remove to paper towel to dry
  3. 3. In the bacon fat saute onions for 4-5 minutes or until onions are clear.
  4. 3. Add the sauce plus 1 can of water and bring to a boil.
  5. 4. Add the chorizo, salt, pepper and oregano then lower heat to a simmer and cook
  6. 50 minutes.
  7. 5. Drain and rinse chickpeas add to sauce and cook 10 more minutes.
  8. 6. Add pasta and bacon.
  9. 7. Cook 2 minutes, remove from heat and the gourmet meal is finished.
