Teriyaki Steak Marinade
- Teriyaki Grilled Rib Eye Steak
- This example was done with a well marbled, tender rib eye steaks, but this marinade can used equally well with any steak -- or chicken or fish for that matter. I like to use fresh ingredients whenever possible, as it really makes a difference in the flavors you get.
- Marinade Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger, fresh finely chopped
- Mix together all of these ingredients in a bowl and whisk well to be sure that the honey and brown sugar are incorporated.
- In this example, this marinade produces enough to marinate two steaks, so it would be sufficient for two of anything (chicken breasts, salmon steaks etc).
- Place your steaks in a Ziploc bag and pour in the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for four to six hours (you can go longer if you wish!):
- When you are ready to grill, remove the steaks from the marinade and allow them to drip dry. Be sure that your grill is heated up and ready to go.
- Brush the steaks with canola oil on both sides and apply sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste on both sides.
