Lime Sweet Pickles

  1. Soak 8 cucumbers in 1 cup of pickling lime for 24 hours.
  2. Rinse and drain until water is clear, about 3 times.
  3. Into roasting pan, measure 9 cups vinegar and 9 cups sugar.
  4. Let dissolve.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons pickling spices in a cloth.
  6. Tie and put in mixture. Add 1 teaspoon salt.
  7. Cool until mixture boils for about 35 minutes.
  8. Turn out fire and let stand 24 hours.
  9. After the 24 hours, bring the mixture to boil.
  10. Have jars boiled and ready. Place in jars and seal.
  11. When cool, tighten lids.
  12. Now you have pickles.
  13. "Ummmm good."
  14. Store in cool dark place.
