Oliver Family Brunswick Stew
- 3 lb. chicken, cut in small pieces
- 3 lb. fresh pork, cubed
- 3 lb. lean beef, cubed
- 1 qt. Irish potatoes, cubed
- 1 c. onions, cubed
- 1 1/2 qt. creamed corn
- 1 pt. small butter beans
- 2 small cans English peas
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 qt. tomatoes
- 1 c. ketchup
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder (optional)
- 1 dash Tabasco sauce
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 3 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/3 c. Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. unthawed okra (last 15 minutes of cooking)
- Mix all ingredients in reserved liquids with meat; bring to boil.
- Lower heat and simmer for 2 or 3 hours.
- Yields about 6 to 7 quarts.
- This recipe freezes well.
