Skillet Tamale Pie
- 1 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can whole kernel corn
- 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1/2 c. yellow corn meal
- 1 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- grated Cheddar cheese
- In a 10-inch skillet, heat oil.
- Add beef and cook over medium heat separating with a fork in small pieces until it loses its red color.
- Add onions, corn and tomatoes (undrained).
- Slowly stir in corn meal, salt, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cook and stir over low heat for 10 minutes.
- Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake at 350u0b0 until bubbly and hot and well browned; about 45 minutes.
